1. What certifications are offered through mile2?

• Certified Penetration Testing Engineer (CPTE; formerly CPTS)

3. How much do the exam vouchers cost?

• Vouchers for mile2 Specialist Level certification exams are $250
• Vouchers for mile2 Expert Level certification exams are $350

4. How do I get a free mile2 exam?

• Military & Intelligence Agency Personnel; you may be eligible for a free exam voucher. Visit this page for details.
  
• Offer criteria is for suitably qualified Military, Police and Intelligence Agency personnel that either:
  • Enroll in a Mile2 CPTS class through mile2
  • Have previously completed a Mile2 CPTS class and enrolled through mile2
  • Offer is open to personnel from most countries
  • Quantities are limited.

5. What are the components to the exams?

Specialist Level Exams

• Usually 100 Questions derived from a much larger pool of questions, random selection, every test is different.
• Two hour duration.
• 80% passing score is required.

Expert Level Exams

• Require a passing grade (pass/fail) for hands-on labs. Students may participate in the labs remotely or in class.

6. After passing the exam, when should I expect to receive my certificate?

Upon Passing you will receive an official exam passing certificate. (Sample)

Mile2 certificates are sent out of the U.S. and take 4-6 weeks U.S. and up to 8 weeks to any international student. These time frames are industry standard as we have many individuals taking the exams. Upon request, mile2 can issue a mile2 certificate ID to qualified individuals prior to receiving their certificates.

7. What is the mile2 exam re-take policy?

Mile2 does offer a Discounted Examination Re-take Policy.

For security reasons Mile2 has revised its policy for retaking examinations. If you fail the first examination attempt, you may re-take it at any time at a discounted fee of $150.00 for Specialist Level and $250 for Expert Level exams; to obtain the discounted fee you must submit this form . If you do not pass the second time, you must wait at least two weeks to attempt the examination a third time. A two week waiting period will apply for all subsequent examination attempts. Once you have passed an examination, you may not take it again.
